About PetCalc

Free pet calculators for everyday questions, built to show the model behind the answer instead of hiding it behind a single number.

Why we built it

Pet owners ask simple questions that often get a vague answer: How old is my dog in human years? Does size change the result? What should I do with that number? PetCalcexists to make those answers quick to use and easy to inspect.

We start with dog age because it is a useful, everyday calculation. The site can grow into other pet calculators only when each tool has a clear model, useful inputs and sources that a reader can check.

How the site works

The calculator runs in your browser. Your dog's size, years and months are used by a small deterministic calculation in the page, and the result appears immediately without an account or a submit step.

Results use a size-adjusted approximation based on published veterinary and canine-age references. The page also explains why published models disagree, so the number is not presented as a diagnosis or a precise biological measurement.

Sources and editorial approach

Each calculator page names the model it uses and links to the relevant source material. We prefer primary or established veterinary references, state important assumptions, and label estimates as estimates. When a source does not support a claim, we do not present that claim as a fact.

The tools are educational. For symptoms, treatment, medication, diet changes or urgent concerns, speak with a qualified veterinarian.

What is live today

The live site currently includes the main dog age calculator, a dog-age-in-human-years explainer, and a page for estimating a dog's age without a known birthday. About, Privacy, Terms and Contact pages describe the site and its limits.

Additional calculators may be added later. We will publish a page before linking to it, so the navigation does not contain placeholder or dead links.
